Thailand has a wonderful range of wildlife in a variety of habitats and is a fascinating place to visit. Forest species: hornbills, barbets, trogons, gibbons, squirrels and elephants amongst the mountains and forests of Khao Yai and Kaeng Krachan National Parks; waders and egrets amongst the shrimp farms near Samut Sakhun and Petcha Buri; and waterfowl at the extraordinary wetlands and tidal flats of Khao Ram Soi Yot National Park.

We will be in Thailand in August 2005 for another recce, this time to finalise our 2006 tour arrangements with our Thai colleagues. A tour summary will be posted after we get back and the full itinerary will also be available. Our tour will include sites in the far north of Thailand near Chiang Mai, for example Doi Inthanon. In the meantime, here are some great photos taken by Pinit Saengkaew to whet your appetite.
